The owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu contacted the Richmond City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of 3900 Hull Street in Richmond City. The Richmond City PD Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Chevrolet. When the officer was unable to locate the Chevrolet a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Malibu.

A short while later, officers from the Henrico County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet Malibu with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the area of 1900 Jennie Scher Road in Richmond City. At this location officers located the Chevrolet parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Chevrolet was then recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu in October 2006 at Enterprise in Newark, Delaware.
