While the owner of this Ford F150 was away for two days, his residence, which is located in the 10200 block of 9th Avenue South, was burglarized. When he returned and discovered the burglary and his Ford truck missing, it was immediately reported to the King County Sheriff’s Office who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Just twenty minutes later, the King County SO Guardian One helicopter picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen truck. The pilots followed directional and audible cues from the PTC (Police Tracking Computer) installed in the helicopter and located the Ford truck at NE 44th Street and 5th Avenue NE in Seattle. A Washington State Patrol trooper also equipped with a PTC received information on the location from Guardian One and tracked the Ford to that location. The truck was abandoned and apparently undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in February 2005 at Gwinnett Place Ford in Duluth, Georgia, when it was purchased as a used vehicle.
