The owners of a Subaru Impreza reported to the Thornton Police Department that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence.  A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

As the stolen Subaru traveled around the North Denver area officers from Thornton and Adams County picked up the LoJack signal with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs in their patrol vehicles the Thornton PD officers and Adams County SO deputies tracked the Subaru to the 200 block of Elbert Way.  There they found the Subaru abandoned with the ignition defeated but otherwise undamaged.  The Subaru was returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Subaru Impreza in 2004 at Automotive Avenues in Lakewood, Colorado, at the owner’s request.
