LoJack System Helps Arizona Highway Patrol Recover Stolen Audi A7

The owners of a 2012 Audi A7 contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.  The owners provided the keys to an acquaintance with instructions to drive the Audi to a prearranged location.  The acquaintance never delivered the Audi to the requested location.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi.

A short while later troopers from the Arizona Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Audi to a neighborhood near 3rd Street and Carney Avenue in Tempe.

The troopers located the stolen Audi unoccupied on a side street near several apartment complexes.  The suspect was not observed in the area.  The Audi was recovered in good condition and processed for evidence.  The Audi was impounded for safekeeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Audi A7 in January 2015 at Audi North Scottsdale in Phoenix, Arizona.
