LoJack® System Helps Law Enforcement Recover a Stolen 2010 Porsche Cayenne

The owner of a 2010 Porsche Cayenne sport utility vehicle went to an adult club for an evening of entertainment. The owner had left their table for a moment, leaving their keys on the table top. When they returned, they discovered their keys missing. The owner returned to where they parked their Porsche and discovered it missing as well. The owner contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report their Porsche stolen. The responding deputy prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.
Shortly after activation while on routine patrol, a Palm Beach County SO deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cayenne on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) near Belvedere Road and Military Trail. The deputy began tracking the stolen Porsche by following the directional and audible cues on the PTC screen, along with support from Eagle 1, the department’s aviation unit. The deputy, along with their backup, located the sport utility vehicle abandoned in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Quail Lake Drive. The SUV was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Porsche Cayenne in March 2010 at Braman Porsche in West Palm Beach, Florida.
