The owners of a Dodge Stratus contacted the Cleveland Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway overnight.

The Cleveland PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

A short while later officers from the Cleveland PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to a remote residential area where it appeared to be parked to “cool off.”

Because of the quick recovery the only damage was to a door lock and the ignition. The suspects did not have enough time to strip it or use it to commit additional crimes. The stolen Dodge was impounded and later returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Stratus in November 2005 at Enterprise Car Sales in Brook Park, Ohio.
