LoJack® System Helps Dallas Police Department Recover a Stolen Lincoln Navigator

The owner of a 2005 Lincoln Navigator contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner went to the mall and when she went inside, realized she must have dropped her keys in the parking lot. When she returned to her Lincoln, she found it missing.
The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lincoln.
Eleven minutes later, the Dallas PD helicopter picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lincoln with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that is installed in their helicopter. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the helicopter tracked the stolen Lincoln to the 1900 block of Deerpath Ave, where they observed it traveling westbound. Patrol officers caught up to the stolen Lincoln and when they attempted to stop it, the driver and passenger jumped out and fled on foot. With the help of the helicopter, both suspects were apprehended and arrested. The Lincoln was recovered in good condition.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Lincoln Navigator in May 2007 at Park Cities Ford in Dallas, Texas.
