The owners of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup contacted the Metropolitan Transit Authority Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the park and ride lot sometime during the day after they parked and took the bus to work. When they returned the Chevrolet was missing.
The Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet pickup.

A short while later officers from the Houston Police Department North Command picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to Blue Bell Street West of I-45 freeway. Officers set up surveillance on the Chevrolet knowing they have arrested a known chop shop operator that uses this area to “cool off” vehicles. With no activity around the Chevrolet officers called investigators from the Metro PD to come to the location and process the vehicle. The pickup was taken to the police impound for printing and continuing investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in July 2006 at Lone Star Chevrolet in Houston, Texas.
