LoJack® System Helps Nashville Metro Police Department Recover Stolen Maserati

A 2007 Maserati Quattroporte was stolen from an apartment complex in Memphis, Tennessee. After discovering the theft, the owners contacted the Memphis Police Department to report the theft.
The Memphis PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Maserati.
Only minutes after the Maserati was entered, a Nashville Metro Police Department officer while on routine patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Maserati with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer began tracking the Maserati. The driver of the Maserati attempted to elude the officer so backup was requested from other PTC equipped Precinct patrol vehicles as well as air support (which is also PTC equipped). The officers continued to follow the directional and audible cues from the PTC and tracked the Maserati to a residential area of the city. The Maserati was located prior to the arrival of the aviation unit.
The Maserati was located but was unoccupied at the time. The undamaged Maserati was impounded for safekeeping.
The Nashville Metro PD Auto Theft Division will be conducting the follow up investigation.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Maserati Quattroporte in September 2007 in Florida as a result of a Direct Sale.
