The owners of a 2013 Toyota Corolla contacted the Gwinnett County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their work during the day from a parking lot.

The Gwinnet County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later a patrol officer from the Gwinnett County PD traffic unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to a rural area of the county where it was found abandoned.

The officer thought that it may have been parked there to cool off before moving on to a different location.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in December 2012 at Atlanta Toyota.
