The owner of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata contacted the Austin Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner parked his Hyundai in a store parking lot, leaving the keys inside and the engine running. When he returned to his Hyundai, he found it missing.
The Austin PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hyundai.

Later, officers from the Austin PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Hyundai with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Hyundai to the downtown area and observed it driving into a public parking lot in the 500 block of San Marcos. The officers were able to stop this stolen Hyundai and arrest the driver. The Hyundai was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Hyundai Sonata in February 2016 at Leif Johnson Ford in Austin, Texas.
