The owner of a 2004 Lexus RX 330 contacted the Baltimore Police Department, Maryland, to report their vehicle was stolen from in front of their residence. The Baltimore PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

The offender went on an apparent road trip arriving in Las Vegas, Nevada, where troopers with the Nevada Highway Patrol and officers with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to a grocery store parking lot. Officers took a female into custody and ended her road trip with a visit to the Clark County Jail. The Lexus was recovered at the scene and towed for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus RX 330 in January 2005 at Rallye Lexus in Glen Cove, New York.
