LoJack® System Helps Law Enforcement Recover A Stolen Honda Accord

The owner of a 2000 Honda Accord 4-door sedan had transmission trouble, so they started their car and left it running in their driveway. When they returned, they discovered it missing. They contacted the Miami-Dade Police Department to report their Honda stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Later in the day, while on routine patrol, a Miami-Dade Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Accord on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The officer began tracking the stolen Accord by following the directional and audible cues on the PTC screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the 4-door sedan abandoned near N.W. 106th Street and N.W. 26th Avenue. The 4-door sedan was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2000 Honda Accord in September 2000 at Maroone Honda of Hollywood in Florida.
