The owners of a Subaru Impreza contacted the Aurora Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.  The Subaru had been parked at their home in Southeast Aurora and had been stolen during the nighttime by persons unknown.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

Later officers with the Denver Police Department Gang Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers quickly tracked and located the stolen Impreza in an alley near 16th and Trenton.  Their follow up investigation disclosed the identity of the suspect who was soon located and arrested for possession of the stolen Subaru.  This suspect was a known gang-member and was currently wanted on other misdemeanor arrest warrants.

The Subaru Impreza was recovered undamaged and was returned to the very surprised and happy owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Subaru Impreza in July 2004 by Burt Subaru in Englewood, Colorado, at the request of the first owner of the car.
