LoJack® System Helps Nashville Metro Police Department Recover Stolen Nissan Armada

After realizing that their Nissan Armada had been had been stolen, the owners contacted the Nashville Metro Police Department to report the theft of their vehicle.
The Nashville Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.
Later that day, a detective with the Nashville Metro PD Auto Theft Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detective tracked the Nissan to a residential area of the city where it was located in the parking area of an apartment complex.
At the time it was located, the Nissan was unoccupied. Surveillance was established to determine if any suspects could be identified. When it became apparent that the Nissan had been abandoned, the surveillance was terminated and the undamaged vehicle was impounded for safekeeping.
The Nashville Metro PD Auto Theft Division will be conducting the follow up investigation.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Nissan Armada in May 2005 at David McDavid Nissan in Houston, Texas.
