The owner of a Toyota Camry contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner had a party at her hotel room and when the party was over noticed that someone had taken her car keys. When she went out into the hotel parking lot, her Toyota was missing.
The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Later, the helicopter from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that is installed in their helicopter. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the helicopter observed the stolen Toyota traveling northbound in the 3600 block of Lancaster Rd. The helicopter directed patrol officers to this location after the stolen Toyota had pulled into a parking lot and parked. Patrol officers approached the stolen Toyota and arrested the suspect, who was sitting in the driver’s seat. The owner’s Toyota was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in August 1999 at Toyota of Richardson in Texas.
