The owner of a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle reported to the New York Police Department, 105 precinct, Queens, New York, that his motorcycle was stolen from him.

The owner parked his motorcycle near his house where he normally parks it, when he came out for it the next morning, he found it missing. He immediately called the NYPD 105 precinct, Queens Village, NY. The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kawasaki.

A short while later the signal was picked up on a LoJack Police Tracking Computer that the police have installed in their vehicles. This silent signal was picked up in the Bellrose section of Queens, confines of the 105 precinct. The signal was followed by the directional and audible cues from the PTC. This signal led them to a residential property that the signal appeared to be coming from. Investigation by the Queens South Auto Larceny unit revealed that the motorcycle was located on this property, so a Search Warrant had to be secured. The NYPD then decided to stake the house out while applying for the Warrant. Their patience was rewarded, because after a while the motorcycle came driving out from the property. The NYPD followed the motorcycle and quickly apprehended the suspect, as well as recovering the motorcycle.

The owner of the motorcycle was notified and he stated that he was happy that when he purchased his Kawasaki he had it equipped with the LoJack® System, otherwise his motorcycle may not have been recovered at all.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle in June 2003 at New York Motorcycle in Queens Village, New York.
