LoJack® System Helps Louisiana State Police Recover Stolen Ford F150

The owners of a 2002 Ford F150 contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a street corner in the Lake Forest area of eastern New Orleans. The owner stated that around midnight on the way home he stopped on the corner and exited of his truck leaving it running with the keys in the ignition to speak with a friend. He stated that he turned his back to the truck at which time two young subjects jumped into his truck and fled down the street.
The New Orleans PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.
A short while later troopers from the Louisiana State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford and found it parked on the city street in the St. Roch area of the city.
The owner was contacted by the troopers and advised them their Ford F150 had been recovered quickly in great shape via LoJack. The owners met the troopers a short while later and were reunited with their Ford truck.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in October 2007 at Champion Ford Gulf Freeway in Houston, Texas.
