LoJack® System Helps Michigan State Police Recover Stolen Cadillac Escalade

The owners of a Cadillac Escalade contacted the Oak Park Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen overnight from their driveway.

The Oak Park PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

A short while later troopers from the Michigan State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the vehicle to a residential area just off the Southfield Freeway in Detroit.

The stolen Cadillac was parked and unoccupied.  Because of the quick recovery there was no damage and the suspects were unable to strip it or use it to commit other crimes.  The stolen Cadillac was impounded.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade in May 2006 at Massey Cadillac in Orlando, Florida.
