The owners of a 2009 Lexus RX350 contacted the Prince George’s County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in the 11200 block Homestead Drive in the Upper Marlboro area of Prince George’s County, Maryland.

The Prince George’s County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later detectives from the Washington Area Vehicle Enforcement picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Lexus to the 7600 block Marlboro Pike in the District Heights area of Prince George’s County, Maryland . At that location, detectives observed the Lexus being operated by the theft suspect. A felony vehicle stop was made without incident, the suspect arrested and the undamaged Lexus recovered by detectives.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009 Lexus RX350 in April 2008 at Lexus of Rockville in Maryland.
