The owner of a 2010 Toyota Yaris reported to the New York Police Department, 76 precinct, Brooklyn, that his vehicle was stolen from him.

The owner parked his Toyota near his house where he normally parks it, when he went out for it he found it missing.  He immediately called the NYPD of the 76 precinct.  The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later, NYPD officers from the 78 precinct, Brooklyn, picked up the silent signal from the LoJack® System installed on the Toyota on their LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They followed the directional and audible cues from the PTC. They tracked the signal into a commercial area of Brooklyn where they narrowed the signal down to the parking lot of a major do it yourself store. There they found the Toyota parked in one of the parking spaces. They staked the Toyota out for a short while, when no one came out for it they took it into custody. The Toyota was recovered with no damage and was in good condition. The owner was notified and he stated that he was happy that he had the LoJack system installed on his Toyota when he bought it, otherwise it may not have been recovered at all. Further saying it was well worth the money.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Toyota Yaris in May 2010 via Direct Sales in Westwood, Massachusetts.
