LoJack® System Helps Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Recover a Stolen John Deere Mini Excavator

This John Deere mini excavator was stolen from a construction site located in the 6500 block of 20th Street East in Fife sometime during a two-day period. The theft was reported to the Fife Police Department. The report was verified and they entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the John Deere.
That same evening, a deputy from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department received the silent LoJack signal from the stolen John Deere on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

The deputy tracked the signal to the area of the 20000 block of 124th Avenue East near Graham.  The John Deere was located abandoned and in good condition.  It was returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the John Deere in July 2011 via Commercial Sales.
