LoJack® System Helps Law Enforcement Recover Stolen 2005 Ford F-350

The owner of a 2005 Ford F-350 pickup truck contacted the Miami-Dade Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the night. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Immediately upon activation, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen F-350 on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) when they entered their patrol car and started it up. The trooper began tracking the stolen F-350 by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The trooper, along with their backup, located the F-350 a short distance away near the entrance to a department store in a regional mall near N.W. 12th Street and N.W. 107th Avenue. The pickup truck was recovered with ignition damage, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Ford F-350 in June 2005 by Maroone Ford of Fort Lauderdale in Florida.
