The owner of a Kawasaki motorcycle reported to the New York Police Department that his motorcycle had been stolen from him.

The owner of the motorcycle had his bike parked near his home, when he came out for it he found it missing. This was in the Bronx, New York, confines of the 46 precinct. He immediately called the Police, when they came they took a written report for his vehicle and this information was brought to the Station House.

The 46 precinct verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed on the vehicle.

A short while later the LoJack signal was picked up in the confines of the 43 precinct, which is in the Soundview section of the Bronx. The signal was picked up on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers that are installed in Police patrol vehicles. The signal was tracked following the directional and audible cues from the PTC. It led to a residential area with small one and two family homes. The signal was narrowed down to one of the houses. After obtaining permission to search the back yard, the bike was located behind the house covered by a tarp.

The bike was recovered with no damage. The owner was notified of the recovery and the bike was taken into custody with the investigation continuing at this time.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Kawasaki in March 2008 by Florida’s Fun Bike Super Center in Lakeland, Florida.
