The keys to this Chevrolet Malibu were taken during a residential burglary in the 4700 block of 200th Street SW in Lynnwood.  This occurred in the early morning hours while the homeowner was asleep.  The Chevrolet was taken by the thief as well as other items from the house

When the crimes were discovered it was reported to the Lynnwood Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.
Less than ten minutes later, a Seattle Police K9 officer traveling through the area picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Malibu on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, he located the Chevrolet behind a library in the 19300 block of 44th Avenue West in Lynnwood.  The suspect was sleeping in the car.  Additional officers from other agencies arrived to assist.  He did not comply with the officers commands and chose to run.  The K9 apprehended the suspect in a short amount of time.  He was then arrested and booked into jail by Lynnwood officers.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Malibu in May 2007 by Enterprise Car Sales in Shoreline, Washington.
