The owners of a 2009 Yamaha YZF-R6 contacted the Taylor Police Department to report that their motorcycle was stolen overnight from their residence.
The Taylor PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Yamaha.

Eight minutes later deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Yamaha with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the motorcycle to a remote area of Allen Park.

Because of the quick recovery the suspect did not have enough time to strip the motorcycle or use it to commit additional crimes. The stolen Yamaha was impounded and later returned to the owner. This matter is to be further investigated by the South East Auto Theft Team (SEATT).
The LoJack® System was installed in the Yamaha YZF-R6 in May 2010 by Motorsports International in Auburn, Massachusetts.
