The owners of a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the past five days.  The owners were out of town and found the Dodge pickup missing from the apartment complex parking lot when they returned.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

A short while later officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to the area of 35th Avenue and Camelback Road in Phoenix.

The Dodge was occupied and officers followed the stolen Dodge to the area of 43rd Avenue and Camelback, where they were able to make a felony traffic stop.  One suspect was taken into custody without incident.  The suspect was arrested and booked into jail for the theft of the Dodge.   The Dodge was processed for evidence and later returned to the owners with ignition damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Ram in August 2000 by Bankston Dodge in Frisco, Texas.
