LoJack® System Helps Salem New Hampshire Police Department Recover Stolen Dodge Van

The owners of a 2003 Dodge van contacted the Boston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.
The Boston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.
Officers from the Laconia Police Department, New Hampshire, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that is installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers attempted to track the Dodge but lost the signal. Shortly thereafter, the Manchester Police Department, New Hampshire, picked up the signal and then they lost it as well. The movement of the signal and the continued loss of the signal by the police departments indicated that the stolen Dodge was on the move. Shortly thereafter, Derry Police Department, New Hampshire, picked up the signal and were able to determine that the stolen Dodge was most likely on Route 93 southbound and the Derry PD called the Salem Police Department, New Hampshire, who dispatched a Cruiser equipped with a PTC to Route 93 S. The officer began picking up the stolen Dodge’s reply code and almost immediately saw the Dodge pass him. The stolen Dodge was stopped and its operator was placed under arrest.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge van in December 2003 by Herb Chambers Dodge in Danvers, Massachusetts.
