LoJack® System Helps Denver Police Department Recover Stolen 2015 Melroe/Bobcat Skid Steer Loader

The owners of a 2015 Melroe Skid Steer loader contacted the Thornton Police Department to report that their equipment had been stolen from a construction site.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Bobcat loader.

A short while later officers with the Denver Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Melroe with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the equipment to the area of 129th and Pensacola.  The equipment was recovered undamaged and returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Melroe Skid Steer loader at the request of the owners to protect it in case of just such an incident as this.
