The owners of a 2008 Nissan Titan pickup contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen sometime during the past couple days while out of town.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Seven minutes later officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to a neighborhood near 9th Avenue and Cinnabar Avenue, in Phoenix.

The Nissan was found unoccupied on a side street in the neighborhood.  The Nissan was recovered in good condition and processed for evidence.  The Nissan was later returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Titan in November 2007 by Power Nissan in Chandler, Arizona.
