The owners of a 2015 Kawasaki Mule contacted the Harris County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from his property sometime during the previous night.

The Harris County SD deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kawasaki Mule.

Later officers from the Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Kawasaki with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that is installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Kawasaki to an address near Cartersville and Owens streets near the Houston Ship Channel. Officers observed two (2) Kawasaki Mules parked behind a residence at that location. Officers obtained a written consent to search, inspected the Mules and identified them as stolen. Also located east of the location was another trailer with a generator. As the owner of the property was being questioned he suddenly bolted and ran into a large wooded area. Officers were unable to locate the suspect at that time. Officers continued to investigate and discovered another stolen motorcycle inside the residence along with five (5) firearms.

Officers then contacted the District Attorney’s office and secured warrants for:  Warrants issued for one subject on: Three (3) counts of felony theft, felon in possession of a firearm and evading officers.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Kawasaki Mule for a commercial customer.
