This Yamaha motorcycle was stolen from the owner’s apartment complex carport on NE 68th Street in Kirkland sometime during daylight hours while he was at work.

When he returned and discovered the bike was missing, the theft was reported to the Kirkland Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Yamaha.

Early the next morning, a King County Sheriff’s Office deputy and the King County Guardian One helicopter picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Yamaha on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the signal was tracked to a residence in the 11300 block of 207th Avenue SE near Issaquah. A suspect at the residence was interviewed. He gave consent to search and deputies located the bike in a garage covered with items to make it impossible to see even with the garage open. His story on how he came into possession of the motorcycle did not make sense. He was booked into jail on possession of stolen property and outstanding warrants.
The LoJack® System was installed in this 2008 Yamaha in May 2008 by South Seattle Sports Plaza in Federal Way, Washington.
