The owners of a 2008 Honda Accord contacted the Fontana Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence driveway.   Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Fourteen minutes after activation, deputies from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Highland Station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the Honda to Baseline St and Elm St, where they located the vehicle occupied by one male and female adult.  The suspects were detained.  The field investigation resulted in follow up information and lead deputies to a local Pawn shop where vehicle parts from the victim’s Honda were sold.  That property was recovered and returned to the victim.  The suspects were arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen checks.  The victim responded and obtained release of his Honda.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in May 2008 by Galpin Honda in San Fernando, CA.
