The owners of a business contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their 2004 Ford F450 flatbed truck had been stolen sometime overnight.  The Ford was last seen parked in a secured loading dock area with the keys in the vehicle.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Nine minutes later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the area of Campbell Avenue and Central Avenue in central Phoenix.

The patrol officer observed the stolen Ford truck unoccupied and parked in an office building parking lot.  The Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force was contacted and responded to the area.  The undercover task force detectives conducted an extended surveillance on the stolen Ford.  No suspects were observed coming back to the Ford so it was recovered and processed for evidence.  The auto theft detectives are following up on a suspect lead.  The owners were contacted and took custody of the Ford at the scene.  They were extremely happy to get the Ford truck back in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F450 in July 2009 by Commercial Sales.
