The owners of a 2004 Dodge R1500 Pickup contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the overnight period.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge Pickup.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to the fifth ward where the vehicle was parked and abandoned on the street. Several residents advised the Dodge was not at the location prior to midnight. The Dodge had minor entry and ignition damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge R1500 pickup in July 2011 at Helfman Dodge Inc., Houston, Texas.
