LoJack® System Helps Tacoma Police Department Recover a Stolen Lexus ES350

The owner of this Lexus parked the vehicle at his business on Olive Way in Seattle and went inside intending on returning in a couple of minutes.  An opportunistic thief got in the car and drove away in full view of employees.   The theft was immediately reported to the Seattle Police Department.  The report was verified and they entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Just fifteen minutes after the LoJack was activated, a Tacoma Police Department officer and a Pierce County Sheriff’s Office deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked it to the Hilltop area of Tacoma where it was observed occupied and mobile near So. 15th Street & So. M Street.  The driver attempted to evade capture and committed multiple felonies in doing so.  He was arrested and booked into the Pierce County jail on four felony charges.

The LoJack® System was installed in Lexus ES350 in December of 2014 at Lexus of Tacoma in Fife, Washington.
