LoJack® System Helps New York Police Department Recover a Stolen 2005 Honda Odyssey

The owner of the Honda Odyssey came out of her house to start her car to warm it up; this was on an icy cold day. She then went back into the house while the car was warming up. When she came out she found it missing. This was in Laurelton Heights section of Queens, confines of the 105 precinct. She immediately called the police, when they arrived they took a written report. This information was then entered by the NYPD in the City, State, and Federal crime computer which automatically activated the LoJack® System in the stolen Honda.
Within a short while of the activation, officers from the 105 precinct picked up the silent LoJack signal on their onboard LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that their vehicle was equipped with. This was in the Jamaica section of Queens, confines of the 105 Precinct. They tracked the Honda through various streets in Jamaica, eventually locating the Honda parked in an icy community drive behind the rear of a block of attached houses. They staked the Honda out for a short while, however when no one showed up for the vehicle they took it into custody. The Honda was recovered in excellent condition, with no damage on it, minus the keys.
The owner was contacted and she was elated that her Honda was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage. She further stated that she was happy that when she purchased the Honda, the vehicle was equipped with the LoJack system.
The LoJack® System was installed on January 2008 at Marty Sussman Honda in Roslyn, New Jersey.
