LoJack® System Helps Baltimore County Police Department Recover Stolen Toyota RAV-4

The owner of a 2008 Toyota RAV-4contacted the Baltimore County Police Department in Towson, Maryland, to report that their vehicle was stolen from the Towson area of Baltimore County. Investigation found that the Toyota was stolen from the location after unknown suspect(s) accessed the vehicle keys and used the keys to steal the vehicle.
The Baltimore County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2008 Toyota RAV-4.
A short while later, officers from the Baltimore County PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2008 Toyota RAV-4 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the Cedonia neighborhood of Baltimore County, Maryland. At that location, officers observed the Toyota parked and unoccupied. The undamaged 2008 Toyota RAV-4 was returned to the owner after recovery.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Toyota RAV-4 during November 2008 at Bill Kidd’s Timonium Toyota in Cockeysville, Maryland.
