The management of a used car dealership discovered that their premises had been burglarized and that three vehicles had been stolen, along with their keys. One vehicle was a RAM pickup truck, another was a Landrover and the third was a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. The Hollywood Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

Shortly thereafter, a Miami Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Escalade on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The officer began tracking the stolen Cadillac by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the Cadillac unoccupied on the ground floor of an apartment complex parking garage in the 1800 block of N.W. 9th Avenue. The Cadillac was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from federal and state crime computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Cadillac Escalade in December 2006 at Bayview Cadillac in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
