LoJack® System Helps Baltimore County Police Department Recover Stolen Chevrolet HHR

The owner of a 2008 Chevrolet HHR 4 door contacted the Baltimore County Police Department in Baltimore, Maryland, to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in the 900 block Foxridge Lane in the Essex area of Baltimore County.
The Baltimore County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2008 Chevrolet HHR.
A short while later officers from the Baltimore County PD aviation unit, County Air 1, and detectives from the Regional Auto Theft Team, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2008 Chevrolet HHR with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and detectives tracked the Chevrolet to the 5200 block Stapleford Road in the Rosedale area of Baltimore County. At that location, officers observed the Chevrolet parked and unoccupied. Surveillance of the Chevrolet by detectives resulted in the arrest of the theft suspect when he/she returned to the Chevrolet and attempted to leave the location. The Chevrolet was then recovered by detectives and the owner notified.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Chevrolet HHR during February 2008.
