The owners of a 2002 Acura contacted the Los Angeles Police Department-Mission Division                                                to report that their vehicle was stolen.

LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

Minutes later, patrol officers from the Simi Valley Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the area of Laguna Drive and Lake Court. The vehicle had been abandoned by the suspects. The vehicle was processed for any physical evidence that may have been left by the suspects. The vehicle was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura in November 2001.
