LoJack System Helps Louisiana State Police Department Recover Stolen 2003 Toyota Corolla & Arrest Two Suspects

The owners of a 2003 Toyota Corolla contacted the Baytown Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their garage by an unknown person that had taken the keys from their residence during a home burglary.
Baytown Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Corolla.
A trooper with the Louisiana State Police in Lake Charles, LA, picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Toyota Corolla with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the trooper tracked the signal into a residential area in Vinton, LA. and located the Toyota parked in a garage of a private residence. The trooper set up a surveillance and just a short while later two suspects entered the vehicle and drove away. A traffic stop was initiated and both suspects were taken into custody for theft of the vehicle. The vehicle was stored until the owner could travel to Lake Charles and reclaim his Corolla.
