LoJack® System Helps Bladensburg Police Department Recover Stolen Nissan Maxima

The owner of a 2007 Nissan Maxima contacted the Bladensburg Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 4200 block of 58th Avenue in the Bladensburg area of Prince Georges County, Maryland.

Bladensburg PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2007 Nissan Maxima.

A short while later officers in the Hyattsville Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen 2007 Nissan Maxima with the LoJack  Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Nissan to the 3500 block Eastwest Highway in the Hyattsville area of Prince Georges County. At that location, officers observed the vehicle parked and unoccupied. The vehicle was recovered by police and a charging document was obtained for the theft suspect.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Nissan Maxima at Tischer Acura/Nissan in Laurel, Maryland.
