Twice in less than 30-days the owners of a Jeep Cherokee suffered the theft of their vehicle.  In both cases it was a call to the Denver Police Department and the entry of the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jeep.

In both cases it was only a short while later that officers from local police jurisdictions were picking up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Jeep with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in police patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the signals coming from the stolen vehicle to; 300 South Newton Street in the first case, and the 1200 block of South Chase Court in the second.

On the first recovery the vehicle was abandoned.  On the second case Lakewood Police arrested one suspect for Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft.

In both instances the owner’s had their vehicle back in their possession quickly following the thefts.

Since the arrest of the suspect in the second event and of this writing the Jeep has not been stolen again.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Jeep Cherokee in February 2012.
