The owners of a Honda Accord awoke to find that their vehicle that had been parked outside their residence, the night before was gone. They contacted the Malden Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the night.

The Malden Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

A short while later, officers from several jurisdictions, including New Hampshire,  picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Honda with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, officers from the Methuen Police Department began picking up a strong signal in the Merrimack Street area. Utilizing their Tracking Computers, they were able to successfully track and then quickly locate the stolen Honda, with a male subject operating it, parked on Route 110 in Methuen. The officers quickly and safely executed a felony stop and placed the operator under arrest. The vehicle, which had not sustained any damage as a result of the theft, was towed from the scene for safekeeping and pending notification of the owner by the Malden Police Department.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in June of 1994.
