An employee of San Francisco Mini was detailing a Mini at the dealership and momentarily walked away from it leaving the keys in the car.  A suspect got into the Mini and drove off in it.

The San Francisco Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mini.

2 hours later, after the automatic activation of the LoJack System in the stolen Mini, San Francisco PD officers picked up the silent signals from the LoJack System installed on the stolen Mini on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the stolen vehicle to the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. The officers stopped the stolen Mini in traffic, arrested the driver and recovered the undamaged car.  The owners of the stolen Mini were contacted to claim their undamaged stolen vehicle.

LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Mini Cooper on 4-29-2014 in San Francisco, CA.
