The owners of a 2007 Toyota Avalon contacted the Newark Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen overnight from in front of their house in the City of Newark. They noticed the vehicle missing around 4:00 AM.  The customer also called the LoJack Call Center to report the theft.

A short while later in nearby Elizabeth, officers from the Union County Police Department picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to Division Street where the vehicle was found parked. The 2007 Toyota Avalon was recovered undamaged.
