The owner of a 2008 Honda Accord contacted the Chicago Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen from in front of his residence on West Foster Avenue in Chicago’s North Park neighborhood. The Chicago Police Department verified the vehicle as stolen and entered the Honda Accord’s information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

Soon after, patrol officers from Chicago’s 017th District picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Honda Accord on their LoJack® Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in their patrol vehicle.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Honda to a side street in the 5100 block of North Hamlin Avenue. The stolen 2008 Honda Accord was recovered by the Chicago Police in good condition before it could be stripped or re-tagged and was returned to the owner on scene.

The LoJack®System was installed in the 2008 Honda Accord at Castle Honda in Morton Grove, Illinois on 6/11/2012.
