The LoJack® System Helps Nevada Highway Patrol Recover Stolen Chevrolet HHR

The Arizona resident in this case drove his Chevrolet HHR to Las Vegas, NV for a brief visit. This vacationer made a new ‘friend’ who stole his valet ticket, and, a little later, took his vehicle as well. After he reported the incident to local police, his luck got a little better thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed in the car upon purchase. Local police, with LoJack’s help, recovered the HHR in less than an hour after activation.
On July 2nd, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report his car was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the HHR, which was installed at Puente Hills Chevrolet in City of Industry, CA, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, a Sergeant with the Nevada Highway Patrol began picking up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Chevy was located at an apartment complex, where it was parked and abandoned. The intact HHR was retrieved and soon returned to its very lucky owner.
