On a recent Friday, the owner of a Mercedes c240 parked her vehicle in the Dorchester section of Boston, MA. When she returned a few hours later, her car was missing. It wasn’t gone for long thanks to the great work of local law enforcement with help from the LoJack® system. With LoJack’s help, police recovered the C240 in less than 90 minutes after activation.

The owner of the Mercedes contacted the Boston Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen on June 13th, 2014. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the C240, which was installed at Herb Chambers Motorcars in Somerville, MA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Boston PD and troopers from the Massachusetts State Police began picking up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Mercedes was located on Columbia Road, where it was parked and unoccupied. The C240 was recovered and soon returned to its appreciative owner.
